Dr. David Eisenman, a physician and professor in the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health's Department of Community Health Sciences and director of the UCLA Center for Public Health and Disasters and co-director of the UCLA Center for Healthy Climate Solutions, was interviewed by The Scientist on how climate change and natural disasters, including the recent wildfires in southern California, have driven research priorities in his field.

“We need to know that so we can better prepare people who are going to stay behind to fight the fire and take better care of them afterwards,” Eisenman said. “People recognize that they need to build back in a way that creates more resilience against future climate change induced disasters.”
